Damon Stoudamire was born on September 3, 1973 in Portland, Oregon. Standing 5'10" and weighing 171 lbs, he played college ball at the University of Arizona before being selected by the Toronto Raptors as the 1st round, 7th overall pick in the 1995 NBA Draft. His college career at Arizona was outstanding — over four seasons he averaged 15.0 points per game, finishing with 1,849 career points across 123 games. In his final college season (1994–95), he averaged an impressive 22.8 points per game on .476 FG% and .804 FT%, cementing himself as one of the premier point guards in the country.
